Orbach's experience lies in Applications of social science to environmental policy and management. Marine fisheries and integrated coastal management. Public involvement and participatory action in environmental policy. Active waterman (fishing, surfing, sailing) with interests, and involvement, in grassroots conservation movements.

Secondary areas of expertise: environmental sociology and anthropology, fisheries policy and management
