Abstract: A second dose of varicella vaccine is routinely recommended. We report 2 cases of large local reactions after receipt of a second dose of varicella vaccine administered in the thigh. The reactions resolved with symptomatic therapy. Clinicians should continue to administer the second dose of varicella vaccine, but should use the preferred site in the arm.
