    Abstract:
The authors consider improvements to the potential flow aerodynamic model for determining the pressure distribution on lifting surfaces. The method of Fourier transforms is used to determine the kernel function which relates the pressure to the downwash within the framework of the shear flow model. Such a model is intended to allow for the effects of an aerodynamic boundary layer which is, of course, neglected in the potential flow model. For simplicity incompressible, steady flow is considered
