Abstract:
Method is developed to compute generalized aerodynamic forces on harmonically osciallating cylindrical duct with supersonic internal flow within framework of linearized, potential flow theory; quantitative results are shown in sufficient number to demonstrate nature of aerodynamic forces and various limiting cases are identified where aerodynamic forces take on simpler form; most useful of these limiting cases appears to be "slender body" limit; generalizations of solution are discussed to include effects of subsonic flow and nonconstant cross-section.
