Gia Gillis

Project Coordinator

Gia Gillis joined the Center in July 2009 as an intervention coordinator for the Durham Connects program. Her role is to recruit moms in the hospital after they give birth and to link families of newborns to the in-home nurse visits offered by the program.

Gillis graduated from Western Washington University with a focus in Latin American Studies. After graduation she served as an adult education program coordinator in her home state of Washington. Most recently, Gillis worked with a non-profit organization in Mexico City where she ran a migration education program and performed community outreach.
