Jon Shoemaker

Research Aide

Jonathan Shoemaker is a research aide for the Hill Center project where he tests public school children and compiles the data. He also works on the Fast Track project as an interviewer.

Born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida, Shoemaker graduated from the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a double major in psychology and elementary education. He was a second grade teacher for one year before coming to Duke.

Shoemaker has volunteered many hours working with children -- especially those with chronic illnesses. He spent his college summers working at the Victory Junction Gang, a camp for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses.
