Research Description: Third-year Grad student in the Shaw lab. I am currently studying the mating systems in the peatmoss genus Sphagnum, a genus which has considerable variation in sexual system, ecology, ploidy, and phylogenetic structure. I am investigating the connection between these axes of variation and mating patterns (whether inbred or outcrossed offspring are produced). In addition, I am investigating certain populations at a detailed level, to understand the temporal, spatial, and phenotypic variation behind mating success.
