Ozgun Eylul Iscen

Özgün Eylül İşcen is a 3rd year PhD student in Computational Media, Arts and Cultures. Under the supervision of Professor Mark B.N. Hansen, Eylul's research focuses on the reconfiguration of the philosophy of materiality, embodiment and image in the realm of new media arts and film theory. Her dissertation locates this inquiry in the context of the Middle East, which foregrounds the necessity to think together the technical, aesthetic and socio-political dimensions of the contemporary imagery. 

Eylul received a BA degree with a dual major in Psychology and Sociology from Koç University, Istanbul, Turkey in 2011, and an MA degree in Interactive Arts and Technology from Simon Fraser university, Vancouver, Canada in 2014.
