Manuscript in Preparation: In the Mind's Eye: The Diachronic Poetics of Ancient Greek Revelatory Performance (working title). (2013).
Abstract: With the notion of theôria as a heuristic
leitmotif, I study the ways in which the
experience of spectating, festival and (more
narrowly) ritual spectating, is encoded and
articulated by ancient Greek poetics from
Homeric poetry down to the cathartic
experience of mysteric religion and classical
theater.
