Research Interests: Industrial Organization, Antitrust, Marketing, Applied Econometrics

Professor Sweeting's research has looked at a number of applied topics in empirical industrial organization and antitrust, including the effects of mergers in media and retail industries, the role of product repositioning in ameliorating the effects of mergers, market power in energy markets and the pricing and design of markets for perishable goods. He is also active in the design of appropriate empirical methods for estimating static games with multiple equilibria, entry models with selection and static and dynamic games with unobserved heterogeneity.
