Research Interests for Thomas D. Wallace

Research Interests:

Professor Wallace’s most recent endeavor was the completion of a textbook covering general knowledge within his field. The book was Econometrics: An Introduction, written in collaboration with his former student, Lew Silver. As a researcher, his investigations explored such variables as human capital accumulation, linear restrictions in regression, time series data, multicollinearity and low-order moments in stable lag distribution, fertility and replacement, full time schooling, the mean square error criterion, and other such subjects. His analyses of these areas often utilized stochastic methods, estimation of error variance, and error component models. His research papers have appeared in a number of prestigious journals, including Econometrica, the Journal of the American Statistical Association, The Journal of Econometrics, Evaluation of Econometric Models, Demography, and the Journal of the Political Economy. Although he is now officially retired, Dr. Wallace’s accumulation of over four decade’s worth of research continues to contribute to the teaching and study of the econometric field
