Research Interests:  

(Ph.D., Georgia, 1987) is Associate Professor of Romance Studies (Spanish) and Literature. He has taught at University of Wisconsin-Madison, Giessen (Germany), and Emory. He has published La escritura politicaa de Jose Hierro, Interpretacion y diferencia, and essays on contemporary Latin American fiction, cultural studies, and literary theory. His books, Third Space: Literary Mourning in Latin America and The Exhaustion of Difference,are forthcoming with Duke University Press. Prof. Moreiras' work in progress is on subalternity and imperial reason in Latin America. His teaching interests include Latin American fiction, cultural and subaltern studies, and literary theory and philosophy.
