Research Interests
As First Violinist of the Ciompi Quartet of Duke University, Eric Pritchard performs regularly throughout the U.S. and abroad and can be heard on many commercial recordings. He has appeared as soloist with orchestras including the the Boston Pops and Indianapolis Philharmonic. Festival appearances include Mostly Mozart, Norfolk, Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival, Monadnock Music, Highlands-Cashiers Chamber Music Festival, Eastern Music Festival, and the Castle Hill Festival. Pritchard was the First Prize Winner of the National Federation of Music Clubs Award in Violin, the Coleman and Fischoff national chamber music competitions, and the London International String Quartet Competition. Formerly First Violinist of the Alexander and Oxford Quartets. Studies with Josef Gingold, Ivan Galamian, Isadore Tinkleman and Eric Rosenblith.

Concert and recording of a new violin concerto which I commissioned from composer Mark Kuss. - "Ananda" cycle by Bill Robinson, June 01, 2007
I have commissioned Bill Robinson to write a series of pieces for violin and various instruments. The "Ananda" cycle consists of a sonata with piano, a set of songs for soprano, violin and piano and a concerto for violin and orchestra. All three pieces have been completed and the concerto is scheduled to be performed with piano in February, 2008. - Commissions, 2005
