Research Interests for Amy C. Scurria

Research Interests: Women's Studies, Opera, Stravinsky, Debussy

I am currently working on a full length opera with Carol Gilligan, author of In a Different Voice, Krya, and The Birth of Pleasure), Jonathan Gilligan, and grammy nominated conductor Sara Jobin. The opera, Pearl, is based on Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter and presents itself as a modern look at feminism and gender truth and equality in the face of a patriarchal society.
