Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Student in Musicology, 2016–Present
Formally trained as a linguist, I am currently working on projects that explore the relation between the musical, the linguistic, and the literary. My dissertation is to investigate the paths through which post-WWII Italian art music in the 1960s–1980s absorbed and contributed to the discourse of structuralism post-structuralism by building on linguistics, semiotics and literary theories, especially centers on music by Luciano Berio.
Prior to joining Duke, my research project was text-music analysis, especially art songs during the French Symbolist movement.
