| Lars Munzer, Musicology
Lars is a second-year PhD student in musicology and music theory. He is primarily interested in American popular music, songwriting and formulaic composition.
Lars holds an MA in British and American Cultural Studies from Freiburg University, Germany, where he wrote his thesis on the perceived Americanization of German popular music. Recently, he contributed a chapter to Elke Weesjes and Matthew Worley's edited volume Music, Subcultures, and Migration: Roots and Routes (Routledge, forthcoming). Prior to Duke, he has worked as a research and teaching assistant as well as a project manager organizing scientific conferences in the field of renewable energies.
Outside of academia, he is a songwriter and hobby composer (YouTube) whose music has among others been featured on the German radio network SWR2. - Contact Info:
