Sarah M. Denes, Musicology

Music of the late twentieth and twenty-first centuries, especially experimental music. M.F.A. in Music Performance and Literature from Mills College, Oakland. I performed on trombone: free improvisation, 20th century French classical music, experimental American chamber music and solos written for me by living Mills composers. I also concentrated in sound recording technologies. My master's thesis concerned Kaija Saariaho's Nymphéa and my undergraduate thesis discussed spirituality in the music of Sofia Gubaidulina.
