Research Interests

My areas of research are jazz and classical music; I focus on the music of the Bebop and Hard Bop eras of jazz and all aspects of performance. I also have interests in children's music and projects collaborating with other musicians.

Thomasville High School has an annual Jazz Festival where high school jazz ensembles are invited to come in to perform, have a mini-workshop with a guest artist and then hear the guest artist perform at the end of the day. I was a guest clinician and judge for this festival. My Jazz Orchestra will be featured in a full day residency at this festival in May of 2009.
