    Abstract:
    The very recent results on efficient two-photon amplification and lasing in a potassium atomic beam are opening a way for the experimental investigation of the properties of two-photon laser systems. A model of the interaction between two intense fields and a collection of potassium atoms is presented. The model is used to explain features of the recent two-photon experiments.
