Abstract:
This report discusses the enhancement of the beam-coupling effect with the use of a more efficient photocharge-producing dopant such as fullerene C60 and a much larger effective applied dc field in thinner liquid-crystal films. More importantly, it is shown that the beam-amplification process is accompanied by negligible phase cross talk between pump and the signal beams similar to those observed in photorefractive crystals.
