Abstract:
A new scaling law is presented for the emission of electrons in intermediate-energy heavy ion collisions. An improved formula is obtained which correctly describes electron emission also in the limit of very short nuclear stopping times τ. In this limit the intensity falls off with the fourth power of the kinetic energy Ee - of the emitted electrons. © 1986.
