Abstract:
Molecular orbital K x-rays emitted during Pb+Pb collisions are investigated. Two results are presented: A slight filling up of the minimum observed in the differential radiation cross-section is given by radiative transitions from the M-shell to the L-shell. The minima are shifted with increasing nuclear contact times to higher photon energies. The observation of the shift allows the estimation of the sticking time. © 1986 Springer-Verlag.
