My research interests are in international and
comparative political economy. Three general themes
are common to my work: the evolution and persistence
of institutions and the ways in which institutions enable
and constrain actors; the role of non-state actors in
international politics; and the potential for synergies
from the combined use of qualitative and quantitative
methods. Some of this work has been published in the
American Political Science Review, World Politics, and
the journal Governance.
