Research Scholar

In the past 15 years, she has conducted research in the areas of aggression and prevention/intervention of antisocial behavior. Christopoulos has been the research coordinator of the Fast Track project, a longitudinal, multi-site program that studied the development of conduct disorder. In that position she coordinated and supervised data collections in different settings like public schools, juvenile and adult courts, and medical and mental health facilities.

For a number of years she acted as the coordinator of data collections in all four sites of the project. More recently she became a Research Scholar with the Durham Family Initiative (DFI), a prevention/intervention program designed to reduce child maltreatment in the Durham Community. As the senior evaluation researcher of DFI she consults in all aspects of evaluation, helping design studies, develop assessment tools, coordinate and supervise data collections.

In collaboration with the DFI research team, Christopoulos assisted in the evaluation of the Multiple Response System (MRS), a family-centered response system to child protection that was introduced by the North Carolina Division of Social Services in 10 pilot counties in June 2002. The report titled "Multiple Response System (MRS) Evaluation Report to the North Carolina Division of Social Services (NCDSS)" was presented to the North Carolina General Assembly in April 1, 2004.

She is currently consulting on the continued evaluation of the Multiple Response System in North Carolina. Christopoulos is also consulting on a Center 5-year grant that aims at improving child welfare outcomes through Systems of Care. The evaluation will assess whether or not a community-based, interagency Systems of Care can effectively achieve positive outcomes for children and families involved with the child welfare agency.
