<title>UNC To Head Homeland Security Center of Excellence</title>

&#x3C;P&#x3E;A consortium led by the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill has won a nationwide competition to run a new Center of Excellence on Natural Disasters, Coastal Infrastructure, and Emergency Management. The new Center, which will be co-led by Jackson State University, will conduct research and develop educational programs focusing on the mitigating the effects of and responding to coastal storms and other natural disasters. Duke University and the Renaissance Computing Institute are part of the consortium.
