I began teaching at Duke in 2008, after completing my Masters in Italian Literature from the University of Notre Dame. I developed my passion for teaching Italian Language and Culture as a graduate student instructor; while at Notre Dame I was awarded the Kaneb Center Outstanding Graduate Student Teacher Award in recognition of my commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. At Duke I teach a variety of Italian courses from the elementary to the intermediate level; I am also the assistant to the Language Program Director. I recently participated in a working group with other Italian Language Faculty to innovate the intermediate level curriculum; our working group was supported by a grant from the Duke Emerging Humanities Networks initiative. My research interests include: Second Language Acquisition and Pedagogy and contemporary feminist literature.
