| Maria Paula Molano Parrado,![]() María Paula Molano Parrado is a Ph.D. student in the Romance Studies department at Duke University. She researches the aesthetics of violence in film and photography in Latin America. She is concerned with the interactions and possible solidarity between humans and nonhumans in contexts of repression and armed conflicts. Her work incorporates non-anthropocentric epistemologies outside the global north, multisensory media, theories of corporeality and feminism. She holds a B.A. and M.A. in Literature from Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia). Additional to academic research, she is a photographer.
