Sandie Blaise,

Sandie Blaise

Please note: Sandie has left the "Romance Studies" group at Duke University; some info here might not be up to date.

As a PhD candidate in French and Francophone Studies, I specialize in contemporary literatures and cultures from the Caribbean, with a specific interest in Haiti and the Haitian diaspora. My dissertation, directed by Professor Laurent Dubois, explores the production and circulation of global literary works and identities across the French-speaking world and in contiguous languages like Haitian Creole.

For the 2018-2019 year, I am the Duke Innovation and Entrepreneurship Graduate Assistant, and will be working closely with Professor Deb Reisinger on innovation in language programming through community engagement and entrepreneurship.

Originally from France, I also obtained an M.A. in Comparative Literary Studies at the University of Kent at Canterbury, United Kingdom.
