Research Interests:

Professor Rasiel focuses her studies on the subjects of behavioral finance, pharmaceutical drug development, and medical decision-making. Her work has implications in a wide range of fields, holding significance for medical studies, while also having implications in realty and financial concerns. One of her recent projects, conducted independently, was an investigation entitled, “Hedging with a Smile: A Behavioral Explanation for the Volatility Put Skew.” Her research findings and ideas have appeared in numerous academic journals that cover a wide range of subjects, from such publications as Lazard Investment Research and Medical Decision Making to the Journal of International Money and Finance and Science. Some of her most recent publications include the titles, “The Crumbling Foundation of U.S. House Prices,” “Futures in Asset Allocation: A Hedging Framework,” “Prime & Subprime Mortgage Foreclosure Analysis,” and “Portfolio Model of Drug Development for Tuberculosis.” Professor Rasiel’s latest research project, conducted in collaboration with Grabowski, explores the capital models for biopharmaceutical R&D and life-cycle costs.
