My research interests are primarily within the sociology of religion, particularly approaching it from cultural and historical perspectives. The questions I intend on researching include, “How do religious groups form and make meaning?” “How do religious groups operate within the larger civil environment?” “How do religious individuals negotiate their religious and secular identities in their respective spheres?” and “How has Christianity developed within modern and postmodern societies?” I am further interested in post-communist countries in central and eastern Europe and how religion has been shaped by their communist past and their non-communist present.
