Research Interests: Voice & Speech

Christine Morris (M.F.A., The University of Virginia) has performed in many productions in New York and regionally, including the New York Shakespeare Festival, Joseph Papp’s Public Theatre, the Asolo Theatre, PlayMakers Repertory, and Profile Theatre in Portland, Oregon. She has trained with Shakespeare and Company in Lenox, Massachusetts, and her voice training also includes extensive work in Lessac, Skinner, and Roy Hart. She performs frequently with Archipelago Theatre of Chapel Hill. Also a professional voice and dialect coach, she has coached many dramatic, musical, and dance-theater productions and serves as resident vocal coach for Duke Theater Studies. Professional memberships include Actors’ Equity Association, Screen Actors Guild, and the Voice and Speech Trainers Association (VASTA). She is Editor of the VASTA newsletter.

1. Actor: Blue Roses, Tennessee Williams Center, University of the South, Sewanee, TN, 2000
   Performed Blue Roses, an original solo inspired by the story of Tennessee Williams' sister Rose, at the Tennessee Williams Center. Ms. Morris researched, developed, and starred in this piece. Invited as a Tennessee Williams Fellow to perform Blue Roses at the Tennessee Williams Center at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. This was the third professional engagement for this project.
