   Abstract:
   Feminist authors of memoirs about their oppression under Muslim patriarchy have added credibility to the view that Islam cannot co-exist with Western values. Often their most vehement criticism fits easily with the intellectual projects of right wing politicians -- who ordinarily display little concern about women's equality.
