Fred Burns has taught FILM ANIMATION PRODUCTION (FVD 135S), INTERMEDIATE FILM ANIMATION PRODUCTION (FVD 151S) and INTRODUCTION TO PRODUCTION (FVD 130S) courses at Duke as an Adjunct Professor since 1986. Duke has a rare film animation Oxberry Camera in Bryan Center for the students to use in photographing their hand-prepared images for their animation projects. Fred won an Emmy for Outstanding Individual Achievement for his animation, “ A Soldier’s Tale.” His former students have made careers at Dreamworks and Pixar in California.
