My research focuses on the intersection between global and national consciousness in Germany from 1760 to 1840. Specifically, I am interested in how German intellectuals conceptualized transcultural and transcontinental flows of people, goods and ideas in relation to national identity. This work examines discourses of trade and migration that worked at the intersection of journalism, history and economic science. I study under Prof. Malachi Hacohen.
