My research focuses on the transmission of American medical knowledge and medicinal commodities to Europe between 1500 and 1800. I am interested in the implications of these long-term exchanges and appropriations for the rise of "scientific medicine" in Western Europe and particularly Italy by the end of the eighteenth century.
