Research Interests:

Matteo Gilebbi recently completed his doctoral degree in Italian Language and Literature at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a dissertation entitled “La Costellazione Volponi: Marginalità, Sperimentalismo, Avanguardia, Postmoderno.” He is also the managing editor of the Journal of Modern Italian Literature “L’Anello Che Non Tiene” (Yale, UW-Madison). His primary area of research is the interaction between literature, philosophy, and mass media in modern and contemporary culture. He has published two articles focusing on the relationship between literature and digital technologies, specifically web-poetry and hyperpoetry experimentations by Italian artists: “La Poesia Intertestuale in Internet” and “La Testualità Differita,” both in the volume -Gli Oggetti di Scrittura II- (International Center of Semiotics and Linguistics, 2004). He has also published essays on Volponi's and Ungaretti's poetry.
