PhD Candidate in American Religion. I study the visual and material cultures of Protestantism in the United States in the early twentieth century. My research focuses on fundamentalism, a conservative movement that flourished from c. 1880-1930. I study the sensory practices of a religious tradition that usually denied the significance of the sensing body by using archival evidence like advertisements, prophecy charts, phonograph recordings, training manuals, and cartoons.
