    Abstract:
We propose a low-complexity equalizer whose performance approaches that of the optimal maximum-likelihood estimators in wideband multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels. The proposed algorithm makes use of a bit-flipping refinement procedure preceded by a frequency-domain equalizer and is based on local-optima searching algorithms. Through performance evaluations, it is demonstrated that the proposed equalizer can perform well when a large number of diversity branches are available in severely dispersive fading channels. © 2009 IEEE.
