Alison H. Edie, DNP, RN, FNP

  • Brief Bio

    Alison Edie is a Family Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in the primary care of underserved populations. She earned her BSN from the Medical College of Georgia School of Nursing in 1984 and her MSN from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in 1991. She completed her DNP at Georgia Southern University School of Nursing in May 2012. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the Association of Asthma Educators, and Sigma Theta Tau.

    Ms. Edie’s interests are in understanding the issues and concerns of vulnerable populations with a focus on self-efficacy and health promotion practices of women and adolescents. Before joining the DUSON faculty, she practiced and conducted clinical trials at Duke in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Allergy and Immunology. Since 2006, she has served as a clinical instructor at the Duke University School of Nursing the ABSN (N202, N231) and MSN (N332, N333, N334) programs.
