Jill Brennan-Cook, DNP, RN, CNE

  • Brief Bio

    Dr. Jill Brennan-Cook has been an RN for 29 years, with extensive experience in both critical care and emergency nursing. She holds a BSN from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and an MS in Nursing from Lehman College of the City University of New York. She earned her DNP at Case Western Reserve University; her thesis focused on nursing students’ perceptions of the nurse’s role. Before joining the DUSON faculty in 2014, Dr. Brennan-Cook served for 15 years on the nursing faculty of Mount Saint Mary College (MSMC), where she taught adult health nursing, basic nursing skills and nursing theory, and nutrition in both the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. She has expertise developing and managing simulation experiences for undergraduate nursing students. Dr. Brennan-Cook is a member of the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning and the Emergency Nurses Association. Her current research interests include sickle cell disease, nutrition and wellness, and educational strategies.
