    Abstract:
A computer model of activation with mapping was used to reconstruct local fiber directions in tissue with a nonuniform fiber field. Local activations from a point stimulus were recorded by surrounding electrodes in a small electrode plaque in the tissue domain. Through interpolation of the elliptically-shaped isochrones, fiber angles were determined for tissue under the electrode plaque. By estimation of fiber direction with activation mapping, local tissue properties can be evaluated and included in propagation models in an attempt to validate their results
