    Abstract:
The Multi-Axis Seat Ejection (MASE) sled program permits a new approach to ejection seat testing. It allows ejection over a range of fixed pitch, roll and yaw angles and dynamic rolling conditions instead of the straight and level conditions that have characterized track ejection testing over the past 22 years. The MASE sled has a pitch range of plus or minus 30 degree , a yaw range of plus or minus 20 degree and a roll range of plus or minus 90 degree , in addition to the ability to roll at high rates during the seat ejection. The sled will permit test velocities to be increased to 725 KEAS (Mach 1. 1) from 600 KEAS which has been the usual upper limit of past ejection testing. This paper presents the sled fabrication status and the test program planned for FY88. The sled design is summarized in general terms only.
