   Abstract:
   Describes the electrical equipment of the Derwenthaugh Coke Works of the Consett Iron Co., Ltd. A turbo-electric generating plant was included in the installation, the necessary steam boilers being fired with coke oven gas. Surplus power is transmitted to the Company's Chopwell power station. Surplus gas is sold to the New-castle and Gateshead Gas Co. Owing to an increased demand for gas from this company an additional coal-fired boiler has been installed, and the original boilers are being converted to coal firing.
