    Abstract:
    Emitted radiation through a finite length dipole located within a 2D photonic band structure is investigated. The photonic band structure, the electric field, and the emission power beamed from an electric dipole are calculated by an integrated scheme involving the triangular integration method, the Poynting principle, the dyadic Green's function, and the plane wave method. A comparison between the measured emission spectra and the estimations of microwave antenna radiation in a 2D scattering chamber is carried out to confirm the dipole emission spectrum change in the photonic band structure.
