    Abstract:
Study of phenomena resulting from propagation of derived waves in inland channels; effects of friction on bottom and sides of channel; influence of width, depth, and canal outlet on propagation; author proposes "reflected wave theory" to account for effect on derived wave of characteristics of body of water at outlet of canal; method of applying theory to canals of various characteristics and determining coefficient of friction for each case; theory is tested by computations for certain known canals.
