    Abstract:
An expression is written for the number of muons captured by species 1 in a target composed of two different species. The steady-state energy spectra of muons in the target and the capture cross section of element 1 have been previously calculated in a classical model (Vogel et al. (1975)). The ratio of captures between the two species is determined using this model and compared with an alternative formula proposed by Daniel (1975). Several experiments on binary alloys or gas mixtures are suggested which allow a distinction between the two models
