    Abstract:
    Effects of long axial cracks on the radial vibration response of cylindrical shells are described, and some implications for fast reactor analysis and safety are discussed. A simple model for the cracked shell is employed, and this model provides analytical expressions from which one can determine the effects of different parameters.
