This note reports on the results of X-ray investigations of lattice parameter changes occurring during ageing of a series of Cu-Zn-Ni-Al alloys as well as for a similar alloy without zinc. The lattice parameters of these alloys, measured both in the solution heat-treated condition (850°C for 1 h followed by water quenching) as well as after ageing at 500°C for various times are given. These ageing times were, in each case, sufficient to bring the alloys near to their maximum hardened state, and marked the end of substantial changes in lattice parameter
