   Abstract:
   The aeroelastic behavior of heat shield panels of the Space Shuttle has been studied, with principal emphasis of flutter behavior of such panels. The objective has been to find a rational model which would provide a finite and reasonably accurate value for the flutter dynamic pressure suitable for use by the designer. Some typical numerical examples are also discussed, and an assessment is provided of the potential for flutter of Reusable Surface Insulation (RSI)-type panels.
