   Abstract:
   An automatic classification sstem that learns by example rather than by programming is to be developed. Artificial neural networks because of their learning algorithms and generalization properties are perfectly suited for these kind of applications. This paper reports on work on designing a neural network based patten classification system to be used for model type verification at the final inspection stage of an IBM personal computer manufacturing line.
